Consider the conceptual/abstract meaning of a word, the thoughts associated to a specific word and what the signifier means linguistically and visually. Design a poster in black and white that expresses your interpretation of the concept.
Approach
_
I chose the word “Apex” and thought of it as stratified layers which create complexity and hierarchy in nature and society. I created a series of abstract photographic images as a means of textural expression of the concept. Custom letterforms were designed to express the concept.
